A survey of women by the Gallup Organization found even though respondents ranked having reliable birth control as “extremely important,” 3% had stopped using it in the past year because of the cost. One in 10 married women said they had postponed a planned pregnancy due to economic considerations. About 12% of the women had changed birth control methods, with 14% of those choosing a less expensive option.
