Research shows a huge and continuing increase in cohabitation in Quebec, a state that 1.2 million Quebecers have already embraced. Outside Montreal, an astounding 80 per cent to 90 per cent of couples who live together are not married. More than 60 per cent of children born in Quebec are born to unwed parents.
