Generation Me Choosing Love over Career and Children over Status
An online survey of 2,000 Elle readers about to turn 30 asked, ’What does a 30-year-old woman want today?’ What they said represents a seismic shift in attitude and lifestyle from the generation before them. They have abandoned career ambition and decided to choose love over work, contentment above the stress of success, marriage and kids above jobs, friends above status. A staggering 80 percent believe 30 is the perfect age to marry, 70 per cent prioritise relationships rather than promotions at work, and 43 per cent say 30 is the best time to have a baby.
